At CCIL, from the incipient stage of CCIL, the management and
the employees of the company have put efforts to balance the needs and the
actions in the field of safety, which has given the fruits of safe
productivity. Since our inception 27 years ago in 1977, we have created
products that are an essential part of people's lives.
CCIL has established a strong tradition of :-

Protection of the environment surrounding.
We are committed to protecting the Environment, Health & safety of our
employees and as well as the people living in the vicinity of the CCIL plant.
SAFETY POLICY :
CCIL believes that people are the most important company asset and will ensure
a continued safe working environment and culture for them by according safety
an equal level of priority with other primary business objectives such as
production, quality and cost.
Key Safety Objectives are :-

Continual improvement of safety performance through preventive monitoring and
control of incidents and improving safety benchmarks.

Prevention of accidents/ incidents caused by unsafe acts which results from
failure of controls and/ or from human errors.

Comply with all applicable safety law and regulations.

Providing training and increasing safety awareness among employees, contract
workers, suppliers, contractors and other business associates.

CCIL Environment, Health & Safety, (EHS) management system is based on the

SAFETY :

The very nature of the activities in the manufacturing facilities of the
company makes safety of paramount importance to the company.

There are detailed safety guidelines and procedures for ensuring safety at all
stages of manufacturing including storage, handling, processing and
transportation.

Continuous class room and hands-on training form an integral part of
operational activities to keep the safety aspects of work in constant focus.

All the company’s manufacturing facilities have well designed fire fighting and
fire protection arrangements manned by highly trained personnel.
THE ENVIRONMENT :
-
Being a process industry, environment is a priority area in CCIL operations as
is mentioned in Safety and the Environment Policy .

The basic manufacturing process at CCIL is environment friendly since it uses a
renewable resource as the main feed stock for its products.

Carbon Monoxide ( CO) , a by-product from the Carbon industry is used in
Co-generation power plant as fuel of Boiler.
-
We have effluent management program and using the treated effluent an many in
house activities like horticulture etc. The quality of liquid effluent
discharge from the factory is monitored continuously and remains much lower
than the norms prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh pollution control board.

The air quality is constantly monitored by providing high volume samplers at
different locations around the factory campus. Green belt has been developed
around the factory to keep the environment clean.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

The company considers the community around its manufacturing facilities as one
of its most important groups of stakeholders.

It holds regular interactive sessions with a cross section of the local people
to inform them of the activities in it’s plants, how it can affect them and
steps to be taken by them in the unlikely event of any emissions from the
factory. This also helps the company to get feedback from the local community
and take corrective actions wherever necessary.

The primary approach for the social activities carried out by the Company is to
“empower” the local people to look after their interests rather than “helping”
them to ensure sustainability of the effort put in.
