Witco sold CCC to China Synthetic Rubber Corporation (two-thirds ownership) and the Taiwan Cement Corporation (one-third). |

Phenix City plant doubled in size when 100 MLbs. of new capacity came onstream in December. |

CCC purchases the carbon black assets of Oriental Carbon & Chemicals Ltd. |
